For many of us there never seems to be enough money to meet all our wants and that leads to trouble when credit is easy. This book spells out three simple rules anyone can use to avoid the negative consequences of easy credit. The rules really are as simple as the book is short (96 pages including addendums) and are simply these:

1. Spend less than you earn.
2. Save now! Buy later.
3. Know Debt.

Seems simple enough, however, the book helps by explaining these rules by way of a case study and by providing some important next steps: doing a financial physical and then developing a Personal Cash Flow Plan (aka budget) based on monthly income and expenditures. Boers writes bluntly and to the point, yet encourages the reader to not give up but to take charge – even by putting giving and tithing back into its rightful spot in the budget. But as Boers clearly indicates, the rules and a plan are not enough – it takes discipline to live by them and work the plan. All I can say is – if you are stressed out and confused by your finances, don’t wait – get this book, take the ‘financial physical’ and starting developing your Cash Flow Plan – it will get you to work on getting out of your financial ‘black hole’ and on the road of good stewardship.
